This is so much more than just an evening food tour - as we munch our way through a veritable feast of Da Nang delights, I'll fill you in the background behind each dish. While we sit side-by-side with locals from all walks of life, I'll give you the fascinating insight into local life. I believe that learning about the people that make the food and the lives they lead is a very important part of my role as your Da Nang Food Guide and that this information will enrich your experience. The eateries I will take you to can vary from restaurants, street food stalls, beach shacks, backyards, living rooms or outside a local house - it all depends on the time of year and your preferences. Every evening food tour includes 8-15 dishes, with snacks/starters, mains, dessert and fruit juice – come with an empty stomach and an open heart for this food challenge! An example of a unique Da Nang dish you will eat is ‘Banh Trang Kep’ – which is loosely translated as ‘Cracker Pizza’ as it is made of crunchy cracker-like rice paper, which is shaped like a pizza and topped with quail eggs, beef jerky and onion – it also looks a bit like a taco! Another of my favorites that I’d like to introduce you to is Banh Trang Cuon, which is made of soft rice paper (yeah, rice features a lot in our dishes!) with a beef jerky filling. No evening would be complete without a dessert, so I'll guide you to a sweet ending such as grilled banana in coconut milk, or avocado ice-cream - trust me, this combination does taste good!

At 5:00 pm: I will pick you up from your hotel or wait for you at our agreed meeting place.
First stop! We will be heading to a well-known local market to see how local people shop; then we'll try some English baguettes, sour apple juice and sweet-jelly soup!
After experiencing the thriving local activity at the market, I will transport you to some hidden alleys and small streets to seek out some typical Vietnamese-cracker-pizza with quail eggs, beef jerky and onion. While eating, we can watch people eat and interact when dining out, and I'll fill you in on history, tales and traditions behind each dish. At some places you will also be able to watch your food get cooked right in front of you!
By now you will probably be starting to feel a bit full after all those yummy snacks, so I’ll give you the chance to do the next leg of our journey on foot, giving you the chance to walk off some of the food before our next destination! As we wander, you'll catch a glimpse of Da Nang nightlife and have time to take in the sights, sounds and beauty of this dynamic city. Before you know it will be at the next stop! Here you can choose from a delicious bowl of a unique Da Nang specialty - Mi Quang noodles (a flavorful mix of turmeric noodles topped with pork, shrimp, egg and vegetables, infused in thick broth), or marinated grilled pork with vermicelli salad and a few bamboo sticks of pork meat. If you’re feeling brave, you can even challenge yourself by having a bowl of noodles with pungent fish sauce! The fish sauce is also a Da Nang specialty and I’ll tell you all about it as we eat.
You must be getting pretty full by now, so let’s walk off that food again as we stroll on to the next stop where you’ll experience a Vietnamese-style BBQ. The hosts will bring out so many different types of meat in different presentations, but the real star of the show will be the sumptuous seafood that Da Nang is famous for! You’ll feast on prawns cooked in a tangy tamarind sauce and barbecued clams with peanut sauce.
We are not going home yet guys ‘cause we’ve still got our last stop and this one’s going to give you a sweet ending! We’ll end the night with a lovely light and healthy dessert of grilled banana cooked in coconut milk soup that will leave a great taste in your mouth.
After finishing the tour, we’ll jump in a cab to return you to your hotel or our meeting place. It's not goodbye, it's "SEE YOU AGAIN " - I wish you all the best and hopefully will have the chance to see you again!
